Mold

Mold can build up anywhere there is standing moisture, and the result of built up mold can be airborne mold particles. Air Purifiers America wants to make sure that the air purifiers we carry are among the most efficient anywhere, so that is why we tested several models of air purifiers using a specialty laser particle counter to measure the percentage of particles removed from the air by the corresponding air purifier. The results follow, with higher percentage numbers indicating more particles, such as mold, pollen, dust and pet dander, removed from the air.

Recommendations: Air Purifiers America highly recommends the IQAir, Alen™ or BlueAir air purifiers, as these units remove over 98% of all airborne particles such as pollen, mold, dander and dust. Air Purifiers America does not recommend the Friedrich C-90, Ionic Breeze or Oreck XL air cleaners, as these units generate ozone, which is harmful to the body according to laboratory research conducted by California DHS' Indoor Air Quality Program.
