Performance Test Results - Bedroom Air Purifiers
Air Purifiers America tested models from several air purifier manufacturers
with a specialty laser particle counter to measure the unit's ability to remove
pollen, mold, dander and dust particles. The numbers below show the percentage
of particles that were removed by the specific air purifier. The higher the
percentage, the better the air purifier.

Air Purifier Performance Test
Recommendations: Air Purifiers America recommends, for
bedrooms, the
Alen™ or
BlueAir air purifiers. These air purifiers can remove over 90% of all
air borne particles such as pollen, mold, dander and dust. The units we have
tested above are designed for bedrooms or small rooms (less than 300 sq ft).
These particles are 0.3 microns and larger which represents most types of
pollen, mold spores, pet dander and most of the dust in a home.
Air Purifiers America does not recommend the Friedrich C-90, Ionic Breeze or
Oreck XL air cleaners as these units generate ozone which is harmful to the body
according to laboratory research conducted by California DHS' Indoor Air Quality
Program.

purifiers tested.
Disclaimer: This test was conducted at our offices to represent how
the units would actually perform for most of our customer base. The test
was not conducted in a controlled test lab and some results may differ from
those in other studies.
